Rocky Mountain National Park

Rockies
Rocky Mountain National Park is eight miles from Ravencrest Chalet. The Park's 417 square miles consist of snow-mantled peaks rising above sub- alpine valleys and glistening lakes. Longs Peak, the highest mountain in the Park, rises to 14,255 feet.
One-third of the Park is above the tree line and is home to Trail Ridge Road, the highest continuous highway in the continental United States. The road rises to 12,183 feet and is open from May through October.
Rocky Mountain National Park is an ideal place for hiking, snowshoeing and off-track skiing and snow boarding. A primary attraction is the abundant wildlife, such as elk, moose, deer and bighorn sheep.
